Photo 1 – Statue of Henry Ford outside of the Museum
Photo 2 – There are more than just Fords in the Ford Museum. This is a 1958 Desoto that had a design that started the “tail fin” era to capitalize on public’s fascination with the growing aircraft industry.
Photo 3 – this is an actual room from an old Holiday Inn Motel – the thought was that the public’s use of automobiles gave rise to the motel industry.
Photo 4 – This is one of several early examples the museum had on display of the automobile being used as a recreational vehicle RV.
Photo 5 – A 1954 Corvette – this model had numerous innovations in manufacturing
Photo 6 – This is one of only 50 Tucker automobiles that were manufactured in 1948. The last Tucker sold at auction in 2012 for $2.7 million. Although the Tucker Automobile Company went bankrupt, the car was noted for being well ahead of its time. Rear Engine, seat belts and other safety features.
Photo 7 – this is a 1930 Dusenberg Model J – a very rare automobile
Photo 8 – The advent of the car spawned the fast food industry that is best represented by this original McDonalds neon sign
Photo 9 – This is a Ford Trimotor – however, Ford did not manufacture airplanes. He did build the engines and this was largely a marketing venture leveraging the Ford name. It was very successful.
Photo 10 – this display showed how a Ford would come together.
